About The Author

Ramona Reed

A.S. Pardesi is a storyteller shaped by geography, culture, and lived experience. Born in coastal Tanzania, raised in England, and now living in New York, his life across continents has given him a natural sensitivity to tradition, memory, and human connection. These experiences did not simply inform his worldview—they shaped his voice.

With a master’s degree in communications, Amar brings clarity and intention to everything he writes. His storytelling is rooted in observation, shaped by emotion, and delivered with a quiet confidence that allows stories to breathe rather than perform. Whether exploring cultural traditions or intimate human experiences, his work carries warmth, balance, and authenticity.

He is the acclaimed author of Brides and Customs Around the World, a richly illustrated exploration of bridal traditions across cultures, and I Want to Go Home, a tender novella that gently navigates the emotional realities of Alzheimer’s. His latest work continues this emotional depth while reflecting resilience, family bonds, and inner healing.

Beyond writing, Amar is deeply committed to preserving cultural art forms, particularly the intricate craft of phulkari: “work of flowers.” He lives in New York with his wife, Kiran, and their loyal dog, Raffi.

About Book

Whispers Beneath The Waves

A story portrays Preethi’s life from hopelessness to cherishing and from heartbreak to strength. Explore the read “I Want to Go Home,” where the author represents the emotional story of her Alzheimer’s disease and how she confronted all of her traumas and conflicts. This depiction will open many lessons, and the loneliness she carries with her. Preethi, the firstborn daughter of the Raiyat family, whose life changes through childhood pleasures, migration, marriage, and ultimately, the agonizing isolation of sickness and abandonment.

She spent her childhood in a typical Indian family with her beloved siblings, Paayal, Pavan, and Ravi. Despite her mother’s preferential behavior causing early stresses, she made a cherishing bond with her youngest brother, Ravi, who backed her confidence by being her best friend and eventually, her guardian. Their bond survives even after being hit by the harsh storms of life, but they proved loyal and connected as pure and honest partners in this bond.

The early years of the Raiyat family were years of perpetual change. While East Africa was in political turmoil, they migrated to India and were displaced again when war and financial difficulties uprooted them. That feeling of displacement, never being quite anywhere, followed Preethi into adulthood.
